Finca

Our Finca (a piece of land or agricultural land, usually with a cottage) is located in Chiclana de la Frontera in the province of Cádiz. Chiclana is located in the southwest of Spain, about 135 km below Seville and lies on the Costa de la Luz. The electricity we collect through solar panels and store it in large batteries. Water we pump from a natural well.

The name is due to the many surprises we encountered on the site and, by the way, we still encounter almost every day.

Who we are ...

We are Rob Korpel and Agnes Voordouw and come from the Netherlands. December 2015 we left for Mendoza in Argentina to find our dream!
We had a lot of help, but unfortunately it didn’t go smoothly. One step forward often meant 2 steps back.
After a year we decided to go back to Europe and chose the province of Cádiz in Spain.
In January 2017 we arrived in Jerez de la Frontera looking for our dream! We eventually found this in Chiclana de la Frontera in the countryside. A sweet little house with 3,500m2 of land and a beautifully decorated “garden”!

Our girls

Our new neighbor had two female sisters for adoption.
After a very short consultation we took the cat girls with their backpacks and after a lot of patience we became good friends.
We named the black one Mel and the gray mixed one Kim.

Casita la Oliva

After saving and a lot of YouTube videos, we took up the challenge to build a small B&B house ourselves.
Without experience we managed to build a sweet house of which we are very proud. After much thought it has been given the name “Casita la Oliva“, this because of the beautiful olive trees on the property.
